Abstract: As part of feminist theatre company By Jove Theatre’s Sparagmos blog on women’s violence in Classics, Plastow discusses a case in Athenian courts of a female defendant for violence and killing, shedding light on the nature of the speeches and allusions common in Athenian courts while also analysing specific allusions to Clytemnestra and the perceptions of female violence in classical Athens.
