Desire, Love, Identity: Exploring LGBTQ Histories

A trail set up by the British Museum for Pride month, this source looks at LBGTQ+ ancient history by re-examining history and myth to consider queer themes. Some of these question the “straight/cis” reading of objects by older scholars, bringing those objects and their LGBTQ+ history to light. The trail also uses objects as a jumping off point to briefly discuss relevant queer history. This audio commentary is linked to objects in the British Museum, and the Museum itself also has a corresponding page with images of these objects.
