Penelope and Weaving

Thursday 14 July 2022

Presented by Olga Levaniouk

As part of the Centre for Hellenic Studies’ Online Open House series, guest Olga Levaniouk guides a close reading of passages from Homer’s Odyssey. By analysing and comparing examples of Penelope weaving throughout the poem, Levaniouk invites a wider discussion of the portrayal of Penelope and the metaphor of women weaving across Homer’s texts.

Recorded open house discussion, hosted by the Kosmos Society, Harvard University’s Center for Hellenic Studies, January 31, 2020.
