Abstract: In response to modern conversations around immigration that draw parallels with ancient Rome to justify immigration policies, Padilla Peralta analyses how Romans themselves perceived and treated immigration by considering Roman immigration and citizenship policies in Part I and slaves as “the original undocumented” in Part II.
