by J.S. Ubhi

Abstract: Ubhi argues for the continued utility of the use of traditional methods of philological comparison between Indo-European languages. He uses Latin-Hittite and Greek-Sanskrit comparisons in order to demonstrate the potential for this to provide insights into the full meaning of epigraphic evidence. Finally, Ubhi argues against a preoccupation against ‘appropriation’ and in favour of ‘reclamation’ when this inhibits scholars’ willingness to follow this approach.
